Day 1

ARUSHA

Arrival you will be welcomed by Ellington safaris guide and transfer to the hotel

Day 2

Activity of the Day

: ARUSHA/MTO WA MBU

Visit a Maasai village to learn about the Maasai people and Clean Cook stove project. Meet the local women engineers who have installed clean cook stoves throughout these communities. In the afternoon, opt to visit the Mto wa Mbu village to enjoy a local lunch and cultural experience.

Day 3

Activity of the Day

: MTO WA MBU/SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a wildlife safari drive en route to the central Serengeti. Spend the night at a basic bush camp and enjoy the African bright stars as the lit sky.


Day 4

Activity of the Day

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

Enjoy a full-day wildlife safari drive in the safari vehicle. Opt for a morning hot air balloon ride over the Serengeti. 

Day 5

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK/NGORONGORO CRATER

Set off on a wildlife safari drive on the way out of the Serengeti. Camp on the Ngorongoro Crater's rim.

Day 6

NGORONGORO CRATER/ARUSHA

Wildlife safari drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, then return to Arusha.

Day 7

Activity of the Day

ARUSHA/STONE TOWN

Fly to the beautiful island of Zanzibar and transfer to the hotel. Enjoy an orientation walk with our site guide in the historic Stone Town, and opt to continue on for a longer walking tour, or explore on your own.

Transfer to the airport for a short, but scenic flight to this island paradise. Arrive in Stone Town in time for lunch and an orientation walk. If you opt to continue on for a longer tour of Stone Town, you will be visiting the Old Slave Market, House of Wonders, Palace Museum; entrance to these sites are optional and are to be purchased on site.

Day 8

Activity of the Day

STONE TOWN/NUNGWI

Transfer to the white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of beautiful Nungwi Beach.


Day 9

Activity of the Day

NUNGWI /MATAMWE

Enjoy free time to lounge on the beach, snorkel, or tour the island.

Day 10

Activity of the Day

NUNGWI/STONE TOWN

Morning transfer from Nungwi. Departure international flight back home.

aGenaral Tips :

 

Languages Spoken: Swahili is the official language of Tanzania while Arabic is widely understood on Zanzibar. In swahili “Jumbo,” or “Mambo” means hello. “Habari” means how are you and “Asante Sana” means thank you.

 

Capital: Dodoma

 

Currency: Tanzanian Shilling. (TZS)

Visa: Most nationalities need a visa to enter Tanzania, which is $50 for a three-month single entry paid in USD and can be obtained at the border. If you are a US Citizen, the visa is $100 USD for a three-month multiple-entry visa.

 

Weather: There are two seasons in Tanzania – dry and wet. The wet season brings long rains falling from March to May. June-November is the dry season during this time low lying areas are hot and humid.

 

What to Pack: If you’re going on safari make you’re wearing the right safari clothes, with a great safari hat, a good pair of safari boots, and at least one jacket as it can get very cold at night. If you’re heading to the coast, you’ll want a bathing suit.

 

Stay Connected: Vodacom and Airtel are the service providers on the mainland. Holatel is the most widely used in Zanzibar, however most hotels and lodges have internet connection (wifi).

 

Water: The water in Tanzania is not safe to drink. Bottled water is available for purchase for cheap.
